ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Danish Egyptian Dialogue Initiative (DEDI)

A seminar event was held in collaboration with The Danish Egyptian Dialogue Initiative (DEDI) as part of their Green Gate project, and hosted by Consoleya. This gathering offered a special opportunity for a select group of design entrepreneurs, including five participants from The International Trade Centre’s (ITC) GTEX MENATEX Programme, who are focused on sustainable practices.

The purpose of the seminar was to deepen the attendees’ comprehension of sustainability in the Egyptian apparel industry, facilitated through the School’s Fashion Business for Creatives Extensive Program. This comprehensive program aimed to provide these entrepreneurs with crucial knowledge and tools to integrate sustainable practices into their business models, encouraging innovation and ethical approaches to design.

Throughout the event, attendees participated in interactive sessions led by prominent experts in sustainable fashion. These sessions covered essential topics such as sustainable sourcing, eco-friendly production methods, ethical marketing, and consumer engagement in sustainability. The objective was to motivate these entrepreneurs to become leaders in sustainability within the fashion industry, advocating for ethical business practices and contributing to positive change.

Reflecting on its outcomes, the seminar was a pivotal moment, showcasing the intersection of creativity, innovation, and sustainability. It provided the participants with a valuable platform to enhance their expertise, broaden their professional networks, and contribute towards a more sustainable and ethical fashion industry.
